Santorini Picnic FAQ

From the weather guarantee to dietary needs, proposals to pickups — here are the answers to the questions we hear most.

What’s included in a Santorini picnic?

Every picnic includes a private, secluded location, full styling (table, linens, cushions, florals and lanterns), a gourmet Greek food spread, Santorini wine or a non-alcoholic alternative, a Bluetooth speaker, hotel pickup and drop-off, and complete setup and clear-away. Proposal and luxury packages add champagne, signage, photography and more.

What is your weather policy?

Santorini is sunny most of the year, but if wind or rain threatens your date we’ll move you to a sheltered spot, reschedule for free, or give you a 100% refund — your choice. You never lose your money to the weather.

Is the picnic really private?

Completely. Every picnic is for your group alone in a secluded location we’ve scouted away from the crowds. No shared tables, no strangers — just your people and the view.

Do you include hotel pickup and drop-off?

Yes — round-trip transfers from your hotel, villa or the port are included with every experience. We confirm your pickup time once the booking is set.

What should I wear to a Santorini picnic?

Smart-casual and comfortable. Flowing dresses photograph beautifully against the caldera; flat or block-heeled shoes are wise on cliff paths. Bring a light layer for after sunset. See our what to wear guide.

Can you cater for dietary needs?

Absolutely — vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, nut-free and other needs are catered for at no extra cost. Just tell us when you book. See the full menu.

Can we extend the picnic time?

Yes. The standard sunset and romantic picnics run two hours; you can add extra time for a small fee. Our luxury picnic runs 2.5–3 hours as standard.

How far in advance should I book?

For sunset dates in peak season (June–September) and for proposals, we recommend 3–8 weeks ahead. The ultimate proposal is best booked 8–12 weeks out. Last-minute requests are sometimes possible — just ask.

What’s the best time of year for a Santorini picnic?

April–early November is ideal. May, June, September and October offer warm, calm weather with fewer crowds and softer light — perfect picnic conditions.

Sunrise or sunset — which should we choose?

Sunset is the classic, world-famous choice. Sunrise picnics are wonderfully private, cool and quiet — ideal for honeymooners and photographers who want the caldera almost to themselves.

Is the experience accessible?

Some of our spots involve uneven cliff paths, but we have gentler, more accessible locations too. Tell us your needs and we’ll match you to a suitable, beautiful setting.

Are children welcome?

Very. We provide child-friendly food, cushions and shade and choose calm, safe locations for families. See our private picnic page.

How do payment and cancellation work?

We take a deposit to confirm your date with the balance due before the experience. Free cancellation up to 48 hours before your picnic. Full terms are shared at booking. (PLACEHOLDER: confirm exact deposit % and payment methods.)

Can you keep a proposal a surprise?

Yes — discretion is our speciality. We plan privately with you, stay invisible, and can disguise the whole thing as a couple photoshoot. See the secret photoshoot proposal.

Do you welcome LGBTQ+ couples?

Wholeheartedly. We celebrate love of every kind and you’ll be welcomed with genuine warmth and zero assumptions.

How do we book and how quickly will you reply?

Just use our contact form or email info@santorinipicnic.com. We reply within 12 hours, usually much sooner.
